Trimble has release modifications to their GeoID file releases.

MiFi Issues with With Windows Mobile Devices

RTSC3 wifi issue resized 600ecently, CSDS technical support representatives have been receiving numerous calls regarding MiFi's and WiFi connections to a variety of  Trimble products. After researching these issues further, we have identified several items that can commonly cause interference with Trimble devices. They include:

  • Using 4G over 3G
  • Securing the wireless network

CSDS customer part of team using GPS and laser technology to study deadly tsunami waves

savidge.science.tsunami.wall.cnn.640x360 resized 600CSDS customer Hermann Fritz, a researcher from Georgia Tech University, is working alongside a team of 200 experts from the Tokyo University of Marine Science to figure out the devastating power of tsunami waves.
 
Using sophisticated measuring and recording devices, like the Trimble GeoExplorer 6000 series and the Contour XLRic Laser Rangefinder, they've already learned alot about the killer tsunami that hit Japan. They are hopeful their findings will lead to the design of new defenses to help the Japanese and others avoid disaster in the future.

CSDS To Present Mobile GIS Session at Cal GIS Conference, March 29, 2011

CSDS Certified Trimble Trainer, Brent Wimmer, will present a session entitled Mobile GIS at the 17th Annual California GIS Conference. The 1 1/2 hour presentation will cover:
  • how to integrate digital photos into your workflow using ESRI ArcPad and/or Trimble TerraSync
  • using Trimble TrimPix to integrate a digital camera into your field data collection workflow
  • the integrated camera capabilities of the new Trimble Geo 6000 Series
  • utilizing the Trimble Yuma rugged tablet computer to conduct inspections, collect information, capture geo-tagged photos and more

Trimble Access v1.8.0 with support for the new Trimble TSC3

Trimble Access v1.8.0 has just been released and is now available for download and instalTSC3 app office 009lation using the Trimble Installation Manager. The Trimble Access Installation Manager installs the application updates and licenses you purchased for your controller. It also updates your Trimble office software so that it can communicate with the updates being installed to the controller.
 
If you would like to receive information on how to download the Trimble Access Installation Manager, as well as step-by-step instructions on how to install it and update your Trimble Access applications and licenses, please click here to provide us with your contact information and the CSDS Survey Support team will email you written instructions and a link to download the Trimble Access Installation Manager.
 
Please note: This process requires an Internet connection to access the files to install.
If you have installed the Installation Manager before, you do not need to reinstall it because it updates itself automatically if required.
